Nike6.0 at SS09 video
[30.12.09]

I don't know how we missed this great video from last winter. It's about Nike6.0 team at previous Simpel Session. So have a look and prepare for even more insane stuff from these guys as Nike6.0 is bringing even bigger team to SS10.

Ryan Sheckler!
[29.12.09]

We're very happy to have Ryan Sheckler confirmed to the Simpel Session 10 skateboarders line-up. This child prodigy turned professional skateboarder, world-renowned athlete, teenage heartthrob, business owner, charity founder and TV star has made his name synonymous with skateboarding. Whether you know Ryan Sheckler from his domination on the contest circuit, his reality show Life of Ryan on MTV or the interviews and cover shoots he’s done in notable magazines, the 19-year-old has already accomplished more than most could only dream of accomplishing in a lifetime. Turning pro at the age of 13, Ryan continues to clock in more contest wins, awards, and video parts every year. He was crowned the overall champion at the Action Sports Tour three years in a row and most recently won Thrasher magazine’s Bust or Bail contest, a win he cites as one of his greatest to date. Now an honorable member of Plan B skate team, who skates with a combination of power and consistency unlike any other skateboarder rolling today, Ryan will go down in the history books as one the greatest.

The psychedelic skater
[29.12.09]

We're very excited to announce Richie Jackson from Sidney Australia to the SS10 line-up. This Aussie is a breathe of fresh air to skateboarding, with more style and combo building that a game of Tetris on an X-Box 360. Richie turned pro at 22 by combining moves no one had seen in 20 years with impossible twists no one has yet to imitate.
He also gets attention by looking like a cross between Oscar Wilde and the Mad Hatter. Richie Jackson has taken his psychedelic vibe to a whole new level with clothes and style, music and life philosophy straight from some 70s consciousness . How does this come through in his skating? In a world of young turks hurling kickflips and 360 flips down stairs like robots, Richie Jackson comes up with some new and very unique tricks. Varial kickflip hippie jump? Double foot-plant down a stair well? Kickflip foot-plant to finger-flip? For those of you who don't know, that's just insane.
He does his own thing. And he does it very well. Just check his parts from Transworld 'And Now' and Death Skateboards DVD. It will blow you away.

"I believe in psychedelicism. Not just psychedelic music, but everything. A psychedelic experience is characterized as the unveiling of perceptions previously unknown — the brain unfettered from its usual constraints. To me, it's all there is, and certainly all that's worth doing. I find no worth in that which doesn't surprise. Anomalies, irregularities, deviation from the common rule — that is all I will ever care for."

Gary Young!
[23.12.09]

We're excited to have Gary Young confirmed for our 10th year anniversary event.

This 26-year old San Diego local has three Simpel Session silver medals in the bag and no doubt he's definitely a big favorite for the podium again.

Gary is one of the best riders in BMX (if not the best:) and his high-speed lines all over the course and killer tabletops are two of Gary Young's calling cards in park competition. He gets enormous respect from his fellow riders, and he's no stranger to the podiums all over the place (gold in Metro and Etnies Backyard Jams, gold in Gravity Games, gold and silver at the Worlds, X-Games silver, silver at Red Bull Empire of Dirt... this list can go on forever).

Check out short interview with Gary from our Sahtel Magazine's Simpel Session special issue (published a year ago):

Austen Seaholm
[22.12.09]

Austen Seaholm from Anaheim California is added to the skate line-up.

This young guy has shown the skateboarding contest world what he's worth. Starting his pro career in 2002, at the age of 16, he was an automatic favorite after earning sixth place at the X Games. Three years later, Seaholm held strong at the Dew Tour when he ended in eighth place in the final standings. In 2006, he fell behind a little bit ending with an eleventh overall. Last year, although he didnt podium, he came real close with a fourth place, keeping the fans looking for what is next to come. in 2009 Austen also took the win in Chinese X-Games and some of his other notable standings include bronze in Tampa pro street, gold in Mystic Cup and Overall Champion title in Vans Triple Crown.

We welcome Austen to his first Simpel Session.
